Team overview

Otago Volts at a glance

Otago Volts are Otago Cricket's men's representative team, rooted in one of New Zealand's oldest first-class cricket traditions and drawing players from Dunedin, Southland, Otago Country and North Otago. They compete in the Super Smash, Ford Trophy and Plunket Shield.

Otago finished fifth in the 2025/26 Super Smash with three wins, one tie, five losses, one abandonment and 16 points. Their victories came against Central Districts and Wellington twice, but the final-round loss to Central closed the campaign outside the finals.

Luke Georgeson remains the senior captain and Josh Tasman-Jones leads the coaching group with assistant Andre Adams. Otago have won two national men's T20 titles, in the inaugural 2008/09 season and again in 2012/13.
